Parents and guardians,
As your child's new math teacher, I thank you for filling out the beginning-of-year forms and purchasing the needed supplies. Seventh grade is a year of immense growth in many ways and I could not be happier to be part of the journey.
Our Special Program
In math this year, your child will complete the accelerated math program. This means we will move at a much faster pace to cover all 7th and 8th grade math topics. Before we began the year, I helped your child set him or herself up for Edmodo (ask him or her to show you this website if you don't know what it is yet). As of today, you can view the first test score on Edmodo. Please check this out and let me know if you have a problem accessing the grade.
Next Test
We have already completed chapter one and (since chapter two is so short) the next test is scheduled for next Wednesday, September 21.
Help Days
I am available 2-3 times each week after school until 3pm. Late buses are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. For the beginning of the year, my after school help days are as follows: Monday, Sept 12 / Wed, Sept 14 / Thu, Sept 15 / Mon, Sept 19 / Thu, Sept 22 / Mon, Sept 26 / Thu, Sept 29 / Mon, Oct 3 / Wed, Oct 5 / Wed, Oct 13 / Thu, Oct 14 / Mon, Oct 17 / Thu, Oct 20. Students have marked these in their agenda books and I'll ensure that they continue to do so throughout the year so they will always know my availability. I encourage students to stay after school as needed or on a consistent and regular basis if they or you feel the accelerated program may be a challenge this year.
