After school help days
Please note my next batch of after school help days: Oct 20, Oct 24, Oct 26, Oct 31, Nov 2, Nov 7, Nov 9, Nov 14, Nov 16. Ms. Willard (our special education teacher) is also available most Tuesdays and Thursdays for students on IEP plans.
Our classroom
We have been working on simplifying expressions in class this week. The skills involve are crucial for student success in higher level algebra courses. Today in class I used a "number magic trick" to make this a bit more interesting for students. Ask your child about it!
What you can do at home
Feel free to check in on homework and make sure students aren't trying to do too much math in their heads. This is a common source of errors with the type of math we are currently working on.
Quizzes
From now on, students will complete a short quiz every Friday in math. These grades will all be posted to Edmodo.
SchoolBrains
The district is transitioning to SchoolBrains as an overall electronic system to record absences, grades, and parent communication. Parents are expected to gain access for quarter two in mid-November. Once this transition happens, my grades will be found on SchoolBrains and not Edmodo.
